Pickled Pink Boutique

I am learning so much about things little girls love since working with the ladies at Pickled Pink Boutique.  I had no idea most of this stuff even existed but what I am finding is so cute I wish I had a little girl that I could spoil.  Here are just a few things I have learned.  LaLaLoopsy any ideas what that is?  Look how cute this little doll is.

Of course then there is Hello Kitty.  Funny my sister loved Hello Kitty back in the day.  Amazing she is still around and still so popular.

Doesn't everyone want to be a princess?
Angry birds is a huge hit as well.  I have heard about this game but have never actually seen it.

I am so glad I have friends who have helped me get to know what is hip for the young girls now days.  I seriously would of been completely lost.

Les Mills Pump Class today!

Now that the new year is underway things are settling down a bit for me.  I have been so busy trying to get things ready for my space at Pink Pickled Boutique that I haven't had time to breathe.  Now that it is done and behind me I am ready to tackle the one thing that seems to always be my biggest challenge.  I am determined to lose this weight that has been hanging around way too long.  Girl Scout cookies are almost gone, yes we bought them because we don't know how to tell the neighbors kids no, pantry has been cleaned out, fridge has been cleaned out so nothing left in the house to get me off track.  I am going to my first Les Mills Pump class today at the YMCA and a bit nervous.  I know it will be packed and will kick my ass but it is what I need to get myself active.  Yes I need a class structure in order for me to be accountable for my fitness.  I hope someday I will enjoy it but right now dreading it more than anything.  I hope I don't look like a complete idiot!

Leslie Sansone - Walk DVD

So in attempt to get things started I purchased Leslie Sansone 5 mile Walking DVD.  With my work schedule I don't always have time to physically go somewhere to do exersice but the walking DVD is something that I can put in a few minutes on my break at my desk and get in a good sweat.  Today is day two and I have done 2 miles each day.  My goal is to do it atleast 3 times a week and add another mile every other week.  Hopefully I will surprise myself and go beyond my goal and do the walk 5 or 6 times a week but hey who am I kidding just getting in one is a huge accomplishment and let's be honest I don't need another reason to feel bad about myself.

Getting healthy what does that really mean?

So as always one of my unspoken New Years Resolutions is losing weight which is the ant hill I talked about in the previous post that I can't seem to conquer.  This year I think I am going to focus on getting healthy.  No Atkins, No Weight Wathers, No SlimFast no dieting!!!!  ENOUGH already!  Anyone in their right mind knows what needs to be done to lose weight it's not hard to figure out to eat more veggies lean meats and low carbs.  HELLO McFly it's not that hard! Well obviously it's the hardest thing I have ever had to conquer and I have been doing it all my life!  So this year I am going to just do what I already know without all the restrictions.  Eat breakfast to get the metabolism started, be smart when choosing lunch or even have a frozen meal which is portion controlled and some are pretty darn good.  Dinner is probably the meal that does me in every time.  We both love steaks but due to the economy that has been limited so it makes it easier. Eat more seafood because we love it and have a salad with every meal which I pretty much do anyways but putting it out there so hopefully I will stick to it.  The only true restiriction is going to be wine.  Yes I drink it and love it but I love it too much so cutting back has to happen if I want to get my ass up over this damn ant hill that I can't seem to conquer.  I hope all my followers are successful in their 2012 goals!

2012 What do you want out of this year?

So 2012 is here and I still can't beleive another year has gone by so fast.  I think back to this time last year and the things I wanted to focus on and what all I have accomplished and there have definitely been some major mountains that were climbed and some small ant hills that I just couldn't seem to conquer.  I think I need a new game plan to really get on track this year.  So first thing is to get myself organized.  When Christmas rolled around and I had orders to fill I felt like I could of easily gotten them done so much more quickly if I wasn't always looking for my supplies.  So I have already begun the process of getting rid of stuff I dont use or need and start putting everything in a place that makes sense.  Went to my dad's for Christmas and he gave me 3 sets of these drawers that he has had in his garage without using for years.  These are so  perfect for me.  The drawers are small but deep so they are actually useful.  As soon as we got home I started the cleaning process.  A little scrap paper and modpodge and they will be adorable.  I hope to finish them up this weekend.

Inspiring Others

I have never felt like anything I have done would be considered inspirational.  I just do what I love and look for new ideas to expand on it.  I talked to my sister last night which was nice.  We have been talking more lately than we ever have.  She lives in California and I am in Texas and with the time difference and our schedules it just isn't easy to find time that fits for both of us.  I am glad to say that we have finally found that time or maybe we just finally made the time.  Talking with her last night she said that I have inspired her husband to get crafty.  Now not that he wasn't already a bit crafty but he has taken to the next level.  She shared some pictures of the things he has been doing in his spare time and I was amazed.  It felt good to see him branch out and take on something new and it made me smile to know that I was a small part of that with just a little inspiration.

Brotherhood not by JR Ward

We just recently started watching a series called Brotherhood.  I would see it in the TV guide listing and it always made me think of Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward series which I love!  This is nothing like the Vampire brothers but a great series.  Good brother bad brother corruption mobsters and killing.  Can't get much better than that.  Well unless they were all a bunch of Vampire of course.

Monday Mishaps

Some days it seems like the stars are aligned and you get so much done but today it seems like one star dropped out of sync and nothing is going as planned.  It's like watering the yard you get everything in it's place to cover every inch of the grass and turn the water on and you realize you have a kink in your hose.  One that you can't just unkink yourself you have to wait for someone to do it for you.  I have not time or patience for waiting.

Worried about the squirrel today.

I have a friendly squirrel at work that plays all day long outside my window.  Yesterday I noticed him sleeping on his back under the tree which was so adorable. I know he has to be hot in this weather so today I put water out and was going to pickup some food.  He hasn't been by yet which worries me because he is always here every morning.  I hope he is okay!

Modest is Hottest - Emma Watson

"Modest is Hottest, Ladies. "I find the whole concept of being ‘sexy’ embarrassing and confusing. If I do an interview with photographers, people desperately want to change me - dye my hair blonder, pluck my eyebrows, give me a fringe. Then there’s the choice of clothes. I know everyone wants a picture of me in a mini-skirt. But that’s not me. I feel uncomfortable. I’d never go out in a mini-skirt. It’s nothing to do with protecting the Hermione image. I wouldn’t do that. Personally, I don’t actually think it’s even that sexy. What’s sexy about saying, ‘I’m here with my boobs out and a short skirt, have a look at everything I’ve got?’ My idea of sexy is that less is more. The less you reveal the more people can wonder."
- Emma Watson

She is amazing for such a young girl.  She is definitely my  favorite Harry Potter character.

New Blog Design

So today I decided I wanted something fresh for my blog a new look but it always seems like a struggle to know how to design it and with what elements.  My sister said to me the other day to always have the same logo so when people see it they know it's me.  So my header is all about the logo.  I went with a subtle background so it doesn become to distracting.  Shabby Trendy Kreations is after my neices and nephew Sara, Travis and Keltan.  Everything else is pieces of me.  I love old skelton keys and if they were so darn expensive I would be collecting them.  Stupid Lamb well I actually did that design for a friend but I just love it so I wanted to make sure it was included.  I love the rustic embellishment at the bottom.  That represents my appreciation for things of the past.  The background is like a watercolor painting.  I have never painted buy my Mam Maw did and I really want to take lessons and give it a try.  She was self taught and was so very talented.  I just love how it turned out.  It is amazing sometimes I can sit and look at a blank canvas, ie computer screen/photoshop, and get nothing done because nothing seems to fit together.  Then there are days like today.  Everything just fell into place.  Don't you just love the saying that I spotted on another blog?  I thought it was perfect.  Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes.  Art is knowing which ones to keep.

Step away from the cakes!

This is what BF gets in the mail for his job. He has to taste them to see how good or bad they are. How does anyone lose weight with carb goodness delivering to your front door.

Photoshop Elements

I have been using PSE for about 4 years now and have taught myself everything I know and I learned today I dont know much.  I can do the basic picture editing and some advance stuff and do scrapbooking and understand for the most part how things work but I had no idea what I was missing out on so I have just recently taking the extra time to learn about ACTIONS and STYLES.  I workd on Styles last week and I googled till my fingers hurt finding all the fun free ones that are avaliable.  I felt like I hit the jackpot until today when I went to look at Atomic Cupcake website.  I have know about them for some time but I was so overwhelmed that I just never took the time to get to understand the biggest jackpot of my life ACTIONS!  Okay maybe on the biggest but by far the biggest when it comes to PSE.  I can not beleive it has taken me this long to even attempt and ACTION.  What was I thinking?  Seriously if you have not attempted to install Actions or Styles please do not wait any longer it's not as hard as it seems.

Did you miss me?

I have had so much going on lately that there just is not enough time in the day.  So I am going to work at posting even if it is something short more than once a week.  So if you are wondering what I have been up to lately I am happy to say a lot.  I finally finished my book for all my scrabble tiles and my order has been placed.  I can't wait to get it!  It turned out so adorable don't you think?  I plan on putting them out at store counters like flower shops or consignment store or maybe even antique malls.  So much of what I do is custom that making a bunch hoping they will sell just doesn't work for me.  I also was contacted by someone who is interested in my military charms.  She is looking to purchase 100 of each branch so this could be a huge deal for my business.  Wish me luck.  I know my stuff is good quality so I am hoping I hear back from her soon.
